#5527 1890 Tartarian Train Stations: Old World, Water-Powered Travel - DVD
The train stations of the 1800s or 19th century don't look industrial – they look celestial, with grand arches and cathedral-like domes of glass and iron that are essentially impossible to build today. What is striking is that water was integrated into all these edifices, with pipes, water towers and fountains everywhere. There seems to have been a basic formula to run the trains: water in, pressure out, silent propulsion. A close examination of the evidence reveals that 19th century technology was super advanced and used geometry, magnetism and water in ways we barely understand. Flowing water was harnessed to operate hydraulic lifts, turntables and mechanical switches. Fascinating!
