This is an analysis of the body language of the 3 Apollo 11 astronauts – Neil Armstrong, Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin and Michael Collins, who claimed to be the first men to walk on the moon – during their public press conference after the event. A lot of the body language exhibited by the astronauts demonstrates stress: fidgeting, licking of lips, picking at knuckles, sitting unusually still, playing with pens and more. Their overall mood was withdrawn, yet they had supposedly participated in one of humanity's greatest moments in history. Why were they not beaming and happy?
